About Runventory

Runventory is a stripped back, centralised listing of running events covering any distance on any terrain.

It's purpose is to put running events on your radar, events that you didn't know existed, and tell you:

  • The name of the event
  • Where it is
  • When it is
  • And the distance(s) available

Wait, don't other sites do this?

Yep, they do. But for us, they suffer from one or more of the following issues:

  1. They have a limited number of events that have been manually added by race organisers signed up to that platform
  2. Tricky to browse through a simple list of events due to lots of unnecessary UI clutter
  3. You need to drill into the event in order to find out the distances on offer
  4. Obscure and difficult filtering options
  5. Inconsistent event formatting
  6. Other sporting events are included

So, how is this site different?

In order to address the aforementioned issues, Runventory:

  1. Pulls in running events from across the internet
  2. Showcases the events in a stripped-back UI
  3. Only displays core event information in the main listing
  4. Offers straightforward filtering options based around where, when and how far
  5. Unifies the formatting, so event title, location, date and distances are consistently displayed
  6. Only caters for runners. Sorry

Any updates coming, or is this it?

Absolutely, this is just the beginning. Initially we want to:

  • Add an advanced filter mode to enable finding events within a certain distance from a given location as well as a race length range filter
  • Allow users to suggest events that are not listed
  • List races from additional sources

After that, we're looking to:

  • Allow race organisers to add their own events
  • Sell race entries to the general public via a booking & payment system

Thanks for taking the time to read this and we hope Runventory helps you find some new events to take part in!
