About 100 Ultramarathon | Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle
A 100-mile ultramarathon spanning from Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle across three days in late July, this trail-based event forms the second instalment of the 100 Ultramarathon Trilogy. Starting in Princes Street Gardens, the point-to-point route heads north through Fife and Angus, finishing at the foot of Glamis Castle itself.
Positioned as the fastest edition in the Trilogy, this route features the highest road-to-trail ratio and the flattest overall profile. The event runs across a 48-hour window with cut-offs only from the 57-mile mark onwards, and operates a walker-friendly 2.5mph pace with no qualifying times required. Nine stocked pit stops are stationed throughout the course, with enhanced food provision at key stops and professional medical cover on hand.
Runners who complete all three Trilogy events—Bamburgh to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Glamis, and Glamis to Stirling—earn the prestigious Trilogy Finisher buckle.
