About 19th Tour des Marches Challenge Walk or Run
Participants can choose between three trail distances at this Shropshire event: 12, 18 or 26.2 miles starting from Wistanstow Village Hall. The undulating route winds through southwest Shropshire, passing through Clun and Bishops Castle, with much of the course set within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, designated in 1958.
The event provides maps and detailed route descriptions, with snacks and drinks available at checkpoints throughout the day. A hot meal featuring vegetarian and vegan options awaits finishers. Support and transport are available for retirees and those completing the 12 and 18 mile distances. Participants receive certificates and are added to a finishers list. The 26.2 mile option is self-supported, so walkers and runners should carry appropriate equipment for the day and anticipated weather conditions.
Entry is limited to 160 participants and the event regularly reaches capacity. Those aged under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
