The 24 Hours South is a distinctive ultra event that challenges runners to cover as much ground as possible in a single 24-hour period along the Offa's Dyke National Trail. Starting from the Nova Centre in Prestatyn on the North Wales coast on 8 May 2027 at noon, participants head south on trail for exactly 24 hours, with their final position determined by GPS tracking when time runs out the following day. There is no fixed finish line, only the personal challenge of discovering individual limits.
The event accommodates solo runners and teams of two to four members, with a walk-only earlier start option available at 10am. Six stocked checkpoints and drop bag access points support participants along the route, positioned between 16 and 76 miles from the start. The combination of the National Trail's terrain, the 24-hour format and open-ended distance creates an ultra that tests both physical endurance and mental resilience.
