About Allendale Challenge
The Allendale Challenge returns on Saturday 3 April 2027, with this 26-mile trail race starting and finishing at Allendale Post Office in Hexham, Northumberland. The event is organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team as a fundraiser for the volunteer search and rescue service covering the Northumbria Police area.
The anti-clockwise route takes in Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law before looping back through Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. The terrain across these upland and moorland features can be demanding, with variable weather a possibility. This is the 36th running of the event, which has proved popular enough to sell out in previous years.
