About Alton Trail 10km
The Alton 10K Off-Road Trail Challenge takes runners through the Staffordshire Moorlands on 12 September 2026, following a route that winds mainly along gravel tracks and woodland trails. The course passes through Dimmingsdale and includes a section crossing the historic grounds of Alton Castle, normally closed to the public, while keeping road running to a minimum.
Registration takes place at the White Hart in Alton, with parking available at Alton Village Hall. The event is capped at 150 participants on a first-come-first-served basis. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to take part, and the race supports two local charities.
