The Atlantic Coast Ultra follows the South West Coast Path along the Cornish coastline near Hayle, challenging runners with 40 miles of wild, rugged terrain. The trail incorporates steep climbs and descents throughout, with navigation emphasised as a key element of the event—though the well-worn Acorn-marked route offers clear guidance for most of the journey. The race takes place on 3 October 2026, starting at approximately 08:30 from the South West Coast Path near Hayle, with a 21:30 cut-off time.

Checkpoints are positioned roughly every 10 miles along the course, staffed to log participant progress and provide support. Medical cover and on-course support are available throughout, with the option of minibus collection for those unable to finish. Participants must carry mandatory kit including navigation means, waterproof clothing, torch, whistle and emergency provisions. The event is based at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, where registration begins at 07:00 and buses depart for the start at 07:30.
