About Aviemore Half Marathon
The Aviemore Half Marathon traces a 13.1-mile circuit through the Cairngorms National Park, largely on forest tracks and paths that wind through Glenmore Forest Park. The route descends from the start and finish at Badaguish towards Glenmore, crosses the River Luineag and follows the shores of Loch Morlich, with forest paths above the water providing some climbing before returning through the woodland. Views towards Cairn Gorm and the surrounding mountains frame the course throughout, while a short section on the ski road breaks up the trail running.
Organised by Badaguish on behalf of the Speyside Trust, this Highland half marathon is designed to showcase the Cairngorms landscape without the severe climbs of higher mountain races. The combination of runnable terrain and scenic variety makes it a distinctive half marathon experience set within the national park itself.
