About Bacchus Half Marathon & 10K
Bacchus Wine Half Marathon & 10K takes runners across the North Downs in September, combining racing with wine tasting at Denbies Vineyard in Dorking. The event offers two distances—a 13.1-mile half marathon and a 10-kilometre race—both on predominantly trail terrain with some tarmac sections. The route is undulating and takes in steep stretches on the escarpment, parts of the Pilgrims Way and North Downs Way, with views across the Mole Valley and Ranmore Common.
Six wine stations punctuate the half marathon route, while the 10K course has three. Runners can sample wines alongside food including cheese, biscuits, fruit and savoury snacks. Those under the legal drinking age are offered soft drinks instead. After racing, a post-race party with food, drinks, live music and a DJ rounds out the day. The event also features chip timing, free digital photographs, secure baggage storage and professional medical cover on site.
