Taking place on 19 December 2026 at York Sport Centre, the Battle of Stamford Bridge Run is a 6-hour timed event where participants can choose their own distance. Runners can tackle anything from 5 km up to 32 miles within the time limit, making it suitable for those targeting a 5 km personal best, attempting their first marathon, or aiming for an ultra distance.
The course uses a 2.2-mile loop on mostly tarmac with a grass section at the start and finish. Each lap includes a gentle incline, and an aid table at the finish of every circuit stocks water, squash, fizzy drinks, sweets and biscuits. The event takes place on the University of York campus and welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities.
