About Beachy Head Marathon
This established weekend event takes runners into the South Downs National Park on trail terrain. The 10 km route uses a shorter loop across the Downs to Belle Tout Lighthouse and back, starting and finishing on Eastbourne Seafront at the beginning of the South Downs Way.
Held annually since 1981, the Beachy Head Marathon weekend runs on 24-25 October 2026 and offers multiple distance options alongside the flagship off-road marathon. A half marathon is also available, following much of the marathon route while taking detours through different sections of similar terrain.
