About Beacon Beast Marathon & The Beastly Half
Taking place on 25 April 2027 in Bodmin, Cornwall, the Beacon Beast offers two trail races created by five local parishes. Runners can choose between 14 miles and 27 miles, both following The Bodmin Way and public footpaths through the area's landscape. The routes pass notable features including Lanhydrock National Trust Estate, Redmoor Nature Reserve, The Saint's Way, Helman Tor and Beacon Nature Reserve, Cardinham Woods, and Lanivet, incorporating local roads, trails and muddy sections with stiles along the way.
Both races finish with a final downhill mile followed by a climb back up steps to St Petroc's church in Bodmin. Aid stations staffed by volunteers from local community groups are positioned at the churches, with one at Lanhydrock's main car park. Runners receive a route description and GPX file, and finishers are awarded a bespoke medal with a complimentary drink provided by the church. The 14-mile race forms part of the Multi Terrain Running Series 2027. Registration takes place at Shire House, Priory Park, Bodmin. Entrants must be 18 or over.
