About Beacon to Beach & Youth Relay Team
After a six-year absence, the Beacon to Beach returns as the centrepiece of the inaugural West Somerset Running Festival. This 10.3 km trail race launches from Selworthy Beacon with views across the Bristol Channel before following technical trails and woodland paths down to Minehead Beach.
The route demands serious trail running credentials. Steep gradients and technical footing characterise the descent, rewarding those who make it to the finish on the sand with a proper sense of achievement and automatic finish photos. A youth relay option, broken into five legs for runners aged 8–16, runs alongside the main race.
The event sits within a broader West Somerset Running Festival weekend, allowing participants to combine it with other running opportunities in the area.
