About Beecraigs Backyard Ultra
A 4-mile trail loop through Beecraigs Country Park forms the basis of this backyard ultra near Linlithgow. The route winds through forest trails and gravel paths with undulating woodland terrain, gaining approximately 150 metres of elevation per lap. Runners must complete each loop within the hour to earn entry to the next; the event continues until only one competitor finishes a solo lap as the Last One Standing.
Taking place on 24 April 2027, the event runs overnight and into the following day. Participants are camped on-site with access to parking, a camping area, hot water and basic snacks throughout. The course is marked consistently with GPX and Strava files available in advance. A head torch and hi-vis or reflective clothing are required kit, and a first aider will be present. All finishers receive a medal, with additional trophies for the Last One Standing and the Assist.
