About Bennachie Summer Series
A monthly 5 km trail race series runs through the summer months at Bennachie in Aberdeenshire. Taking place on the second Thursday of each month from May to August 2026, each race follows forest tracks at the base of the hill with approximately 126 metres of elevation gain. Registration and the start are based at the Bennachie Visitor Centre, with the route marked throughout and facilities including toilets available at the start and finish.
Runners are scored across all four races in the series, with prizes awarded based on their best three times. The terrain demands appropriate footwear and kit for off-road running, and participants should be prepared to be self-sufficient with limited water available at the finish only. All runners must be 18 or over.
