About Bishopbriggs 5 Miler
The Bishopbriggs 5 Miler takes runners off road across a mix of surfaces, following tarmac towpaths along the Forth and Clyde Canal before looping through Possil Marsh nature reserve. The 5 mile route begins near Cadder Bridge and finishes close to the Leisuredrome, combining the canal corridor with parkland trails for an entirely off-road experience.
Organised by Springburn Harriers under Scottish Athletics licence, the race welcomes runners aged 15 and over. The course is marked at each mile with marshals and first aid support in place throughout, and results are published shortly after the event concludes. Taking place in late August, this trail race offers a popular fixture in north Glasgow's running calendar.
