About Black Dog Beach Race
Pettycur Sands in Kinghorn hosts this 5k beach race on 13 September 2026, organised by Cani-Sports Scotland as a memorial edition. The out-and-back course runs across the sand to Black Rock and back, covering just under 5 kilometres. Runners should be prepared to get their feet wet on the outward leg.
This is a dog-running event with categories for juniors aged 11–14, kids aged 7–10 (who must be accompanied by an adult also attached to the dog), and standard adult runners. Dogs must be at least one year old, kept on lead throughout and in good health. Entry is capped at 100 runners. Pettycur Bay has nearby parking, public toilets and local shops. Those planning to attend should check the organiser's website for the latest details.
