About Blackpool Festival of Running Saturday
Blackpool's seafront plays host to the Festival of Running across two days in April 2027, with trail races spanning distances from 2 km to the full marathon. The 10k, 5k and 2k events take place on the Saturday, while the half marathon and marathon are scheduled for Sunday morning. Both longer distances follow a two-lap course marked with mile markers, splitting at the 13-mile point to ensure runners stay on their correct routes. The 10k and 5k use kilometre markers throughout.
The festival is based on Blackpool's Middle Walkway just north of North Pier on the seafront, with all facilities including race headquarters, baggage storage, toilets and medical support located at the venue. Participants can collect their personalised bibs and chip timing tags before race weekend or on the morning of their event. Water stations are positioned at regular intervals along each route.
