About Blue Castle Run
Runners who relish woodland trails and varied terrain will find plenty to enjoy in this 7-mile circuit around The Blue Pool nature reserve in Dorset. Part of The Purbeck Trail Series, the race takes in ancient woodland, heath, hills and valleys, with glimpses of castle remains along the way. Notably, the 2026 edition reverses the usual direction, presenting the course from a fresh perspective.
The route circles The Blue Pool twice, starting and finishing at the reserve. Participants should bring a collapsible cup as the event operates on a cupless basis, with one aid station positioned at around the 5-mile mark. A 150-minute cut-off applies to all finishers. The race welcomes canicross entries, though these are limited in number, and chip timing records results for all competitors.
