About Borrowdale 21k Trail Race
A 13.1 mile trail half marathon through the Borrowdale Valley, this event takes runners on a scenic loop around Derwentwater and into the surrounding fells. Starting at Lingholm near Keswick on 22 August 2027, the route winds through woodland and past lakeside trails, incorporating rocky singletrack and bridleways with sustained climbs and descents. The course follows the shoreline of Derwentwater, passes through Grange and Rosthwaite, climbs toward Watendlath, and returns via Great Wood and Ashness to finish at Crow Park.
The trail is waymarked with marshals positioned at key points throughout. A water station is located at 12.5 km and at the finish, with toilets available at registration, start and finish areas. A 4 hour time limit applies to completion of the course.
