About Boudicca Way 50km Ultra
Diss marks the starting point for this 50 km ultra, which follows the Boudicca Way trail southeastward to Norwich on 18 September 2027. The route traces a well-established long distance path through South Norfolk's historic villages, including Saxlingham Nethergate and Shotesham, and passes Caistor Roman Town—one of only three Roman towns in the UK never built over, and formerly capital of the Iceni tribe. Runners begin at Hope Church on Vinces Road in Diss, a short walk from the train station, with the finish at Trowse Common in Norwich.
The 50 km course is generally good underfoot and well marked throughout. The event is capped at 150 runners and operates under a 10 hour time limit, with a rest area and drop bag facility at the Manor Rooms near the finish. The race is licensed by the Trail Runners Association and held under UK Athletics rules. A GPX file of the route is available for those planning their approach.
