About Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme
Trail terrain defines both events on offer here. The Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme is a 47.5-mile ultra spanning 11 summits and high points between Brecon and Cardiff, climbing roughly 2,800 metres in the process. It demands strong mountain running ability, solid navigation and excellent fitness. For those seeking a shorter challenge, the Taff Xtreme Marathon runs the second half of the route from Merthyr to Cardiff at 26.2 miles with around 1,200 metres of ascent, offering a demanding winter trail marathon that serves as either a standalone achievement or a stepping stone into ultra running.
Both races take place on 14 February 2027, starting from Coleg y Cymoedd Nantgarw Campus in Upper Boat, Rhondda Cynon Taf.
