About Bruce's Crown Race
Bruce's Crown Race takes runners into the Scottish uplands of Galloway, where a 46-mile trail route crosses three distinct hill ranges: the Minnigaff Hills, the Rhinns of Kells and the Awful Hand. Starting and finishing near Glentrool, the course accumulates over 4,000 metres of climbing across terrain with few established paths and variable ground conditions, demanding solid navigation skills.
The event runs over two days with a 24-hour overall cutoff, supported by three manned food checkpoints offering soup, food and drinks, and mountain rescue teams stationed across each range. Runners can enter solo or as teams of two, three or four, with team members required to stay together and check in at each checkpoint as a complete group. A minimum age of 18 applies.
