About Bude Pirate Run
This 8-mile trail race around Maer Down and Crooklets takes in the varied terrain of the Cornish coast: coast path, fields and woodland alongside short road sections. The route is mostly off-road and can be muddy and slippery underfoot, particularly after wet weather. The event takes place on 20 September 2026 and forms part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series, with piratical fancy dress encouraged.
Registration happens at Bude Surf Life Saving Club, adjacent to Crooklets Beach Car Park, where public parking is available (charges apply). Two water stations will be positioned around the 3 and 6-mile marks, with water also at the finish; runners expecting to need additional hydration should carry their own. The race welcomes runners aged 17 and over, with prizes for the first three male and female finishers, first male and female affiliated teams, and age-group categories from under 35 through 70 and over. A portion of race income goes to Bude Surf Life Saving Club.
