About Burgh Backyard
Burgh Backyard is a backyard ultra format endurance race taking place at Dalkeith Country Park near Edinburgh on 20 March 2027. Runners complete a 7 km trail loop repeatedly, with each loop beginning on the hour. Competitors must start within the corral when the bell rings, with three, two and one-minute warnings given beforehand. Those who fail to finish within the hour or miss a start are removed from the race.
The course begins and ends at an event village on the Palace Lawn at Dalkeith Palace. The race continues until only one runner remains capable of starting another loop within the time limit, with the winner required to complete one final solo loop to claim victory.
