About Burrator Noir
Burrator Reservoir, set on the edge of Dartmoor near Sheepstor, hosts this night trail running event on 14 November 2026. Burrator Noir offers two distances: a 10 kilometre loop around the reservoir perimeter, and a more challenging 12 mile route that ventures into open moorland and forestry.
The 10k follows a flatter, faster course hugging the water's edge, while the 12 mile route takes in forested paths, moorland tracks toward Nun's Cross and Princetown, sections of an old disused railway near Foggintor Quarry, and returns through woodland and plantation. Both races start from the Discovery Centre and require a head torch. The 12 mile route demands additional kit including spare batteries, a long-sleeved top, waterproof jacket, collapsible cup and mobile phone. The 10k requires a head torch, mobile phone and road shoes; road shoes are not suitable for the 12 mile trail. Dogs are welcome on the 10k only.
