About Butcombe Trail Ultra
Butcombe Trail Ultra comprises self-navigation trail ultramarathons staged in the Mendip Hills by Town and Country Harriers. The 50 km event takes place on 17 April 2027, starting from The Swan Inn in Rowberrow, Shipham, Somerset. All surplus funds from the races are donated to the Mendips Hills Fund.
The event serves as a qualifying index race for UTMB and sister races. Participants navigate the trails independently, with support provided by aid stations staffed by trail runners. GPS trackers offer real-time location monitoring throughout the race. Free race day parking is available at headquarters, with on-site camping also offered.
