About Calderdale Way Ultra
The Calderdale Way Ultra takes runners along trail sections of the Calderdale Way, a route that circles Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden in West Yorkshire. The 30-mile and 50-mile courses follow old packhorse ways across open gritstone hillsides, past traditional stone causeways and through hillside villages and mill towns along the River Calder.
The 50-mile race is a circular route starting and finishing in Heptonstall, with a 17-hour overall cut-off and intermediate checkpoints at Withens Clough (19:00) and Great Rock (23:00). The 30-mile event begins at Brookfoot Lock in Brighouse and requires arrival at Todmorden Sports Centre by 16:30. Both distances are supported by aid stations along the way. Mandatory kit must be carried throughout, and runners will need to register for the event at Towngate Tearoom on 1 May 2027.
