About Canal Shuffle
Taking place on 24 April 2027, the Canal Shuffle is a seven-hour timed challenge held along the Grand Western Canal near Sampford Peverell in Mid Devon. Runners tackle a flat out-and-back route of approximately 6.55 miles and can complete as many laps as they wish within the time limit, with an aid station positioned at Burlsecombe and another at race headquarters. A separate 10k option is also available using a shorter lap with its own start time.
The seven-hour event awards prizes for the furthest male and female finishers, while the 10k offers podium places in male and female categories. Everyone completing at least one lap receives a bespoke medal. Participants can take breaks between laps and may stop after any completed lap, provided they report their finish to the timing team and keep their race number visible throughout. Bag drop facilities are available at Sampford Peverell Village Hall.
