About Canalathon Ultra
The Canalathon Ultra follows the Rochdale Canal through West Yorkshire, offering a largely flat trail running course with minimal elevation gain and straightforward navigation. The 100 km race takes place on 4 April 2027, with the event centre and finish based at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club in Sowerby Bridge.
The course uses mainly hard and dry surfaces, so trail running shoes are recommended. Chip timing is in place throughout, with the route marshalled and signed. Aid stations are positioned along the way providing both savoury and sweet food, juice and water; runners should bring their own cup or bottle. Mobile first aid, on-course sweepers and portaloo facilities are available, along with free parking, changing and shower facilities at race headquarters.
