About Canterbury Trail Marathon
A pair of trail distances challenge runners through the Kentish countryside south of Canterbury on 25 October 2026. The 13.1-mile Half Marathon and 26.2-mile Marathon both navigate rural footpaths, scenic trails and quiet country lanes across rolling farmland and historic pathways, mixing wide tracks with more technical terrain.
The Half Marathon is way-marked and has a 3.5-hour cut-off, with two aid stations providing water, food and hot and cold drinks. The Marathon runners must navigate using a downloaded route on their phone or watch, with four aid stations positioned throughout the course and a 7-hour time limit. Both distances require participants to follow a mandatory kit list.
The event is based at Canterbury Christ Church University Sports Centre, which offers changing facilities, showers, toilets and a recovery area. Live tracking allows spectators to monitor participants' progress, and food and drinks are available on site. Runners must be at least 18 years old.
