About Carlisle City Urban Trail Race
Two trail running distances take centre stage at this May event in Carlisle. The 5 km and 10 km races traverse a mix of road and established off-road tracks, starting near Carlisle Cathedral on St Marys Gate and passing landmarks including the Millennium Bridge, Carlisle Castle, Bitts Park and Rickerby Park before finishing at the back of the Sands Centre.
Registration, race numbers and timing chip collection happen at the Sands Centre on race day. Overall prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in male and female categories, with age group prizes also available depending on the number of competitors in each age band. Runners must be at least 15 years old to take part.
