About Castle Trails: Sandhurst to Bodiam Led by Ema
Castle Trails: Sandhurst to Bodiam takes place on 22 August 2026 as a free community trail run through the Rother valley. The 10.25 km circular route covers rural trails, field paths and undulating countryside with 163 metres of elevation gain, passing Bodiam Castle at its midpoint.
Participants can join a guided group led by an experienced England Athletics Leader in Running Fitness, which operates at a relaxed, social pace with regular regrouping. Walking the steeper sections is welcome. Alternatively, runners may follow a supplied GPX file independently at their own pace. Those staying with the guided group benefit from England Athletics insurance; independent runners complete the route under their own responsibility.
The run starts near the junction of Back Road and Bodiam Road in Sandhurst, with limited paid parking available nearby.
