About Causeway Cost Ultra Marathon
The Basalt Breaks Giants Causeway Coast Marathon Events take runners across the trail terrain of Northern Ireland's north coast, using coastal paths, cliffs, beaches and forest trails to form out-and-back routes. The courses pass the Giant's Causeway and nearby headlands, with reference points including Larrybane Quarry, Portbraddon rock scramble, White Park Bay Beach and Portstewart Strand.
Taking place on 11 September 2027 from Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae, County Antrim, the event offers four distances: 10 km, 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles and 64 km. The Marathon and Ultra are both ITRA points events. The 10 km race and 10 km Challenge Walk support Cancer Focus NI. Open to international entries, this long-established series has been running since 2010.
