About Cheddar Gorge Challenge
Four distances across the Mendip Hills make up this trail running challenge on 13 June 2027. Competitors can choose between 6 km, 10 km, 13.1 miles or the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, all taking in routes around Cheddar Gorge and across open Somerset countryside. The terrain mixes open fields, flat stone paths and technical rocky sections, with the longer distances featuring sections over Beacon Batch, the highest point on the Mendips.
The event takes place at Warren Farm, Charterhouse, and courses are marked and marshalled with runners set off in waves. The half marathon and marathon are both UTMB index races. Marathon runners face a 3 hour cut-off to start the second lap. An omnium format is also available, combining a choice of long distance with a 100m sprint, 1km middle distance and hill climb.
