About Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge
Taking place on 26 September 2026, the Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge offers three distances across trail terrain in South Oxfordshire. Runners can choose between 10 km, 25 km or 50 km loops based at Henley Showground, with elevation gains of approximately 235 m, 500 m and 920 m respectively. The route traverses the Chilterns through historic trails, rolling hills and nature reserves.
Rest stops are positioned roughly every 12.5 km, stocked with hot drinks, water and energy drinks, with main meals available every 25 km. Medical teams, podiatrists and massage services support runners throughout. The route is signed with arrows and night glow-sticks, and GPS tracking records progress at checkpoints. Henley basecamp provides on-site camping, parking, a Saturday night meal and bar, with shuttle transfers to nearby train stations available for finishers.
