About Chiltern Hills 100K
Taking place on 2 October 2027, the Chiltern Hills 100K is a trail ultramarathon based at Chesham Guides Headquarters in Lowndes Park. The single 100km loop gains over 1800 metres of elevation as it travels anticlockwise through the Chilterns, taking in established trails past landmarks including Ashridge Estate, sections of The Ridgeway, Ivinghoe Beacon, Tring Park, Wendover, Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill before returning to Chesham.
Six checkpoints are positioned throughout the route at approximately 14km, 28km, 41.4km, 57.8km, 75.3km and 88km, each offering water, snacks and hot drinks. A drop bag service is available at the Hastoe checkpoint. The course is fully marked and runners carry a GPX route file and printed map. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules, with a UTMB World Series index and a maximum field of 250 runners. The minimum entry age is 20. Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone with the route, a head torch with spare battery, waterproof or windproof jacket, extra warm layers and a refillable hydration system holding at least 500ml.
