About Cilcain Mountain Race
Nestled in the hills of Flintshire, the Cilcain Mountain Race takes runners to the highest local peak and back over a 7 km trail course. Part of the annual Cilcain Show held on August Bank Holiday Monday, this fell race has been a fixture since 1973, with roots going back to 1960. The main loop starts and finishes near the church, climbing the zig zag path before returning via the north spur.
Participants must be at least 16 years old. Registration takes place in the churchyard on the day of the race. Junior races also run as part of the event, based in fields behind the showground.
