About Clarendon Marathon
The Clarendon Marathon has been run since 1998, and now takes place on the first Sunday in October as a charity event managed jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Winchester and Salisbury. The 4 October 2026 race follows the historic Clarendon Way from Salisbury to Winchester, with more than 90% of the route on country tracks and paths. Mile markers count down from 26 towards Winchester.
Three distances are available: 5 miles, a half marathon at 13.1 miles, and the full 26.2 miles. The mini run option starts from Farley Mount Country Park and covers the final section of the route, with bus transport provided to the start. A separate children's race is held around the grounds of Kings School. All participants receive a t-shirt and medal at the finish, plus a printed souvenir programme. Detailed 2D and 3D maps, elevation profiles and a GPX file are available for the full route.
