About Clowbridge 5k
Starting the new year with a 5k trail run, Clowbridge 5k takes place on 1 January 2027 at Clowbridge Reservoir near Burnley. Based at Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on Manchester Road, the event follows a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway, with runners completing two laps in an anti-clockwise direction around the reservoir.
The course is fast and flat with minimal elevation gain of around 25 metres across the 5km distance. The event welcomes participants aged 11 and over, with marshals stationed on the course. Proceeds from the race are donated to local causes. Parking is available at the lower car park at the Sailing Club and at Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir.
