About Coast 2 Coast - Mourne Marathon
Organised by 26.events, the Bridgedale Mourne Coast 2 Coast takes runners across the Mourne Mountains on a challenging 26.2-mile mountain marathon. Starting in Rostrevor, the route follows the Mourne Way through forest trails, open mountain tracks and remote valleys before climbing to the summit of Slieve Donard, the highest peak in the range, then descending to finish in Donard Park, Newcastle.
The course presents significant elevation gain and technical terrain throughout, mixing runnable sections with steeper climbs and off-road ground. Participants encounter the Trassey Track as they push into the High Mournes, navigating varied surfaces and challenging mountain conditions across this true coast to coast line through the Mourne range on 24 April 2027.
