About Colchester Stampede 10k
A 10km trail race through Colchester Zoo on 16 May 2027 combines running with a unique wildlife setting. Runners start in the heart of the zoo near the rhinos, elephants, giraffes and zebras, then follow a distinctive route that loops through the zoo grounds on closed roads. The course covers one zoo lap with 77 metres of elevation gain.
Race day includes free entry to Colchester Zoo, chip-timed results, a themed medal and race photos. Water stations are positioned around the route, with additional refreshments available at the finish.
