About Coln Valley 10km Charity Trail Run

Trail running through the Coln River valley takes centre stage at this charity event, with three measured distances winding through Cotswold countryside between Coln St Aldwyns and Bibury. The 2 km steeplechase fun run follows undulating grassy fields with hay bale hurdles, two crossings of the "dip of doom," and a final climb up "heart break hill." The 5 km and 10 km routes climb out of the valley onto gently undulating grass pasture; the 10 km forms a figure-of-eight route that reaches Bibury and passes Arlington Row cottages. All routes are approximately 95% on trail and waymarked throughout.

Organised by Friends of Hatherop Primary School, all proceeds support the school's Big Build Project. A water and jelly-baby station sustains runners mid-route. The event takes place on 6 September 2026 at Proposito in the Cotswold District. Facilities include field parking adjacent to the River Coln, toilets, and refreshments at the finish. Age recommendations are given for each distance: 2 km for all ages (under-7s should be accompanied), 5 km recommended for 11 or over unless accompanied, and 10 km recommended for 16 or over.
