About Colne Valley Path Marathon
The Colne Valley Path Marathon takes runners through the Colne Valley on 22 August 2027, with two trail distances starting from the event base at Stambourne Village Hall near Braintree. The half marathon covers 13.1 miles from Greenstead Green, while the full marathon extends to 26.2 miles, routing through Great Yeldham and past a notable oak tree before both finish on Cymbeline meadows in Colchester.
Participants navigate using a self-directed format with either a GPX file or written instructions, with aid stations and checkpoints positioned at regular intervals along the routes. A pre-race shuttle service operates to transport runners to the start, leaving vehicles at the finish. Parking and toilet facilities are available at both the start and finish locations.
