About Community Traverse Coast to Coast 300KM
This 300km trail running event follows Wainwright's legendary coast-to-coast route across England from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea. Over multiple days in March, participants traverse three national parks—the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors—crossing varied terrain including mountain trails, moorland, forest tracks and farmland.
Navigation competence is essential; a GPX file and route details are provided in advance, with sections way marked but requiring independent route-finding skills. Eight structured checkpoints along the route offer water, hot food (including vegan and gluten-free options), snacks, race nutrition, sleeping facilities, toilets and first aid. Family and support crew are welcome at designated checkpoints, and a bag drop service operates at selected stops.
The event has a 112-hour overall cut off with individual checkpoint time limits. Participants must be at least 20 years old and follow a mandatory kit list. Live tracking applies throughout, and finishers earn ITRA endurance points as the event is ITRA registered.
