About Community Traverse - Moors 100
Community Traverse – Moors 100 is a 160 kilometre mountain ultra running from Patterdale in the Lake District to The Lion Inn on the North York Moors on 20 March 2027. The route follows sections of Wainwright's Coast to Coast, crossing rugged fells and mountain passes in the opening stages before progressing through the Yorkshire Dales and onto exposed moorland, rolling countryside, historic villages and farmland.
Runners start at Church Corner in Patterdale within Lake District National Park and head east through varied terrain towards the finish. Five checkpoints at Shap, Kirkby Stephen, Richmond, Ingleby Cross Village Hall and The Lion Inn provide water, hot food (including vegan and gluten-free options), snacks, race nutrition, indoor access, toilets and first aid support. The event operates a 60 hour cut-off, uses live tracking for all participants, and has a mandatory kit list. A GPX file and final route information will be issued ahead of the race. The event is registered with the International Trail Running Association and finishers gain ITRA endurance points.
