About Community Traverse Sprint 70KM
On 20 March 2027, the Community Traverse Sprint takes runners on a 70 km trail journey through the Lake District, following a section of Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Patterdale. The course encompasses coastal paths, mountain passes, steep climbs and rocky descents across challenging mountain terrain.
The route includes structured checkpoints at Ennerdale, Borrowdale and the finish, where runners can access water, hot food (including vegan and gluten-free options), snacks, race nutrition, indoor facilities, toilets and first aid support. An 18-hour overall cut-off applies, with individual checkpoint cut-offs to be published in the race pack. Participants must carry mandatory kit and will be tracked throughout; organisers will provide a GPX file and final route details in advance. The event is ITRA-registered, with finishers earning endurance points.
