About Cornwall's Backyard Ultra
Cornwall's Backyard Ultra challenges runners to complete multiple laps of the same route, with each loop timed to start and finish on the hour. The competition continues until only one runner remains able to start another lap. Taking place on 3 October 2026 at Lancaster Crescent in St. Eval, this endurance format tests both physical and mental resilience.
The course is a 4.2-mile loop through Cornish countryside, featuring undulating terrain across country lanes and a section of the Coast Path at Bedruthan Steps. The varied surfaces and elevation changes provide a demanding route that runners must tackle repeatedly throughout the event. Participants must be aged 18 or over to take part.
