About Cowal Highland Gathering 5K
A 5km coastal road race set within one of Scotland's best known Highland Gatherings, the Cowal 5K takes place on 27 August 2026 in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute. The out-and-back route starts beside the crazy golf course at the breakwater and follows the shoreline towards Innellan before turning near the quarry on Bullwood Road and heading back to the finish.
The race is open to runners aged 15 and over, with registration at the Pier Building on Dunoon Pier. Trophies are awarded to leading finishers, and every participant receives a commemorative medal.
