About Cronkley Fell Race
A 17.1 km fell race across the Pennines, Cronkley Fell Race takes place on 12 September 2026 starting from Farmhouse Kitchen Cafe at Low Way Farm near Barnard Castle in County Durham. The route climbs 560 metres over trail terrain and is designated Category BM, suitable for experienced fell runners. The race holds full FRA Permit and UK Athletics insurance.
Entries are open to runners aged 18 and over, with a maximum of 150 participants. Teams are welcome and club prizes are awarded to the top three finishers, with separate male and female team categories. Full FRA kit is mandatory due to the remote upper sections of the route being inaccessible to emergency vehicles. The entry fee includes a chip butty and hot drink from the cafe.
